A quick 90-minute train ride from Paris can take you to Troyes in Eastern France where a third of the stained glass of France can be found.

The Cite de Vitrail has an extraordinary exhibition sharing the contemporary windows of Notre Dame de Paris created in the 1930s. Very controversial at the time they were only briefly installed before being removed and forgotten.

The days after the fire in 2019 they were once again discovered. A few disappeared over time and the ones we have are quite fragile. For a limited time, they are together again and beautifully restored.

The city of Troyes is a half-timbered Renaissance wonderland with one church after another that is filled with beautiful stained glass dating as far back as the 13th century.
